Your order will arrive three days prior to your wedding or event. We will call you and/or your groomsmen to come pick up your tuxes. After your event, simply return all your rented items to Blackbird Formal Wear.
when do I get my rental tux?
It's not a problem! If you are not able to meet with us in person you can always get measured in your local area, send us your measurements, and we will have your order sent directly to your home.
what if i do not live near you?
JFW has several options for purchase. Look for the "Buy" link at the top of their webpage to browse their selection of suits, tuxedos, shoes, and accessories available for purchase. Blackbird is also in talks with additional wholesalers to provide you with more options! Contact us if you would like more information.
do i have to rent only or can i buy my suit/tux?
Absolutely not! We encourage people to make an appointment for a consultation at our store location where we can happily assist you with your selections and complete your fitting at the same time.
do i have to select my style before my fitting?
Blackbird Formal Wear has a location at 134 W. Middle St., in Chelsea, Michigan, where we will take your measurements and ensure a proper fit. After your fitting we will place your order and collect payment. We accept cash, or credit card, upon placement of your order.
when will i be charged?
Blackbird Formal Wear is an authorized retailer for JFW, a wholesaler. In order to rent from JFW we are the retailer in our area and we utilize the JFW website to facilitate rentals with them.
why am i getting directed to jim's formal wear?

Yes! Unfortunately, due to high costs we do not offer rentals for kids, but we do offer children's suits/tuxedos for sale. We offer a great selection with very competitive prices.
do you have options for children?
We've got you covered. We have all customers try their tuxedos on at pick up time. If the tux needs significant alterations, we will send it to our regional center who will alter the tux and ship it back to your home, or venue, so you have it prior to your wedding or event.
what if my tuxedo does not fit?
Yes! Blackbird Formal Wear is a member of the Collins Collective, a collection of wedding and event related business located in Chelsea, Michigan. The other businesses include The Collins Off Main, The Collins at the Clocktower, and Blue Sky Event Rentals. Be sure to contact us for more information about any of our Collins Collective partners if we can meet any of your wedding or event needs.
are you affiliated with the collins off main?
Not at all. The website is a resource to browse the available styles to choose from. You can start your order or build an event on the site which will get sent to us, but we know your time is valuable. Once you identify the items/style you want you can just make a fitting appointment with us and we can do all the work for you!
